Vision
At Woodborough Woods, our Design and Technology curriculum aims to inspire pupils to be innovative and creative thinkers who have an appreciation for the product design cycle through ideation, creation, and evaluation. We encourage children to use their ingenuity and originality to design and make products as a response to relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering the needs, wants and values of others. Within a sequence of learning, children are also given opportunities to reflect and evaluate past and present designs, enabling them to become innovators and risk-takers. The curriculum has been designed to provoke deeper understanding and, in many cases, has cross-curricular links to other subjects to promote rich purposeful learning. At Woods, we aim to build awareness of the impact of design and technology in our lives and encourage pupils to become resourceful, enterprising citizens who will have the skills to contribute to future design advancements.
